Swindon eastern expansion

Villagers will be aware of plans for the large scale expansion to the east of Swindon involving 8,000 new homes, 40 hectares of employment, a new secondary school and primary schools, transport improvements, and retail, health, community and leisure facilities.

Bourton PC, alongside other local parish councils, has previously made representations to Swindon Borough Council (SBC) regarding the scale of the new development and the inevitable impact on road traffic on the A420 and, importantly, through the village.

SBC are holding a ‘drop-in’ event to publicise the transport schemes related to the development on Tuesday 23 January in Coleview Community Centre, Stratton St Margaret from 15:30 to 18:30 hrs.  More detail is given in the attached flyer.
