Shrivenham Park Golf Club

Appeal for donations

Shrivenham Park needs every penny we can acquire at the moment to help us through the Coronovirus situation.  Following a very wet winter the course was so waterlogged the number of paying players reduced and takings were low; now, the Coronavirus has caused the closure of the course entirely, with the inevitable loss of revenue.

Our membership is small and as a members’ club we rely heavily on members and visitors playing and using our facilities.  We have applied for the government grants available and our staff our accepting lower wages at this time.

We know and accept the fact that many villagers around the Shrivenham area and in Shrivenham itself love to see the open green space between Watchfield and Shrivenham.  When it was looking as if the course was going to be acquired for building about 5 years ago, we fought hard to keep it and were encouraged by the feelings of local people.  We are not a park and cannot have people roaming the course, as golf is its primary function, but we really do need your support for this important community resource.

For this reason an online giving system has been set up and you can give no matter how small donation to Gofundme Shrivenham Park Covid 19 drive to survive.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this appeal:  please donate to protect this important part of the local community and its green spaces.  We look forward to receiving your support.
