St James’s

Calling all artists and bored self-isolaters!

As we will not be able to celebrate Easter in the usual way we were hoping to add some Easter cheer to the village by putting up some Easter decorations in the churchyard and perhaps other key spots in the village. We would love people to draw a colourful Easter egg picture that we can then laminate and hang from trees.
Be as creative as you like – colour in an Easter egg picture or create your own in any way.  A5 size would be great and please write your name and age (if you like!) on the back so we can all enjoy your contribution.  If you need some inspiration here are some templates to use.  There are two files attached – the first is in jpeg format and the second is a pdf.
Please either drop your picture round to Tower House (letter box on the left wall in the porch) or leave it in the plastic wallet pinned up on the church notice board.

Challenging times

This is a copy of the message on the Church’s Facebook page.  You can find the page at @shrivenhamandashbury

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer our normal programme of Sunday and mid-week services at the moment due to guidance regarding Coronavirus, but the churches will be open, and you are welcome to use them, and the wonderful primrose filled churchyards, for private prayer. We are hoping to have a notebook in each church for you to write your prayers or requests, and our clergy will pray for them when they come in to worship.

We are also investigating ways to stream times of prayer; we’ll let you know what we’re planning as soon as we know.

Please do share this page and encourage any other parishoners you know to follow us and keep up to date, and look after one another.
