St James Church

Collecting Sainsbury’s ‘Heroes’ cards?

You can use the church to drop off your duplicate or unwanted Sainsbury’s Disney/Pixar cards and look for missing cards (there are 144 to collect!).

Just use the table at the back of the church – some duplicates have already been dropped-off so that elusive missing Hero you’ve been looking for might already be there!

Ringing the bells for Notre Dame

Ringing the bells at St James’

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York are today encouraging, where possible, all cathedrals and churches across England to toll a bell for 7 minutes at 7pm this Thursday, 18th April, as a mark of solidarity following the devastating fire at Notre Dame Cathedral. This initiative has been suggested by the British Ambassador to France, Edward Llewellyn, and it is hoped that many will take part.

To support this initiative the bells of St James, Bourton will be chimed for 7 minutes on Thursday evening. If you would like to come along and join in then please do. Sarah Howell, one if the church wardens will be there to ring, and to support any other villagers who would also like to ring.

St James’ Church

Saturday family service

Dear all,

If you’ve been cooped up inside today because of the snow then do wander down to St James tomorrow morning for our monthly family service. We’ll put the heaters on nice and early and there will be plenty of hot drinks and biscuits!

In the church’s calendar we are actually marking the end of Christmas this weekend, so maybe we can all say we’ve had a white Christmas after all!

Hope to see some of you tomorrow.
